Alex is a future-minded people leader and a long-time advocate for inclusion, diversity and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Growing up in Melbourne, Alex moved to Queensland to begin his career in the mining industry after studying Mechatronics in university, and he quickly learnt there were not many like him (yet). Through this time working for a future-facing global company, he led several projects in Engineering, Finance, Portfolio Management, Organisational Change and Technology; learning from many amazing male and female leaders and never forgetting the mindset it took to create these successes.
Fast forward to now, the fastest moving industries are embracing technology, automation, data productivity, AI and the age digital transformation – new professional roles in organisations are emerging and evolving everyday. Alex has invested in men and women from many diverse backgrounds, including some who have changed careers, in how to stay in front of the skills curve by possessing a future mindset. As an advocate of these desirable STEM skills, he has partnered with or featured by like-minded organisations such as CSIRO, BHP Foundation, Qantas, University of Queensland, QUT and Channel Ten’s Coding@Home series.
Since 2019, Alex has coached like-minded professionals to uplevel with a future mindset and skills that stay desirable and evergreen, so they can create rewarding careers and be part of projects of the future.
